Flex Builder will be named as Flash Builder

The next version of Flex Builder will be named Flash Builder. This will create a better distinction between the open-source Flex framework and the commercial development tool.

I love the new name, this is excellent. Great going Adobe. :)

    Could you please tell me how does this help in distinction between flex and flex builder? Also will this lead to confusion about flex builder itself as people will mistake it as flash development environment?

    Hi Arun,

    There was a lot of confusion between Flex framework and Flex Builder, people used to get confused a bit. Flex will continue be the name of the Framework and just the name of the IDE is changed to Flash Builder. All Flex developers will continue to be Flex developers. :)
