Add power of Flex to Struts application

Anirudh S from Adobe, Bangalore created an awesome library using which you can change your existing Struts applications to use Flex as frontend. You just have to copy few jars and JSPs and that’s it, you need not make any changes to your Action classes. You should have a look at this library. Please check out more details from the URL below.

  11. Hi Sabarish,

    1. If you want to access data using request object on the Servlet/JSP you can use the HttpService class as explained in this URL

    2. Yes, this is definitely possible with BlazeDS, but you don’t need not write Servlet/JSP code, you can directly Java methods from Flex applications. Please find more details at this URL

    Hope this helps.

    Hi All

I have been looking at the Flex Struts integration examples on the net and they are old. The FXStruts project does not work with Struts 2.0.

So, I have worked on this for the past couple of weeks and have created a Maven archetype that creates a template project for Flex front end and Struts back-end. In that I have an example of a Form submission to the back-end, and also fetching data from the Struts action to be presented in the Flex Page.

I have not published it, but if anyone is interested, please send a mail to and I shall send you the maven archetype and instructions on how to create a project.

    Thank you

    Hi Sujit,
I want to change my Struts view layer to Flex view.
I am using remote object to get the parameters in my remote java file from a flex UI.
In struts we a concept of form which gets parameters from UI and sets it. We can use this form object wherever we want in the application.
How can we that using Flex ?

  14. Lalit says:

    Hi Sujit,
Is it possible to integrate flex and BlazeDS with Struts 1.3 with the link above ?
